Bhikkhu Bodhi Visitation, Thursday, May 11, 2023
On Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 10:45AM to 3:30PM, Bhikkhu Bodhi will visit Mahapajapati Monastery for a special luncheon and rice offering ceremony. Bhikkhu Bodhi is 78 years old and is world-renowned for his teaching, and translation of the Buddhist Canons from Pali into English.
It is a rare blessing to have the opportunity to meet such an accomplished Buddhist Zen master. We invite all Buddhists to cherish this good fortune to come and pay homage to the Zen master, Bhikkhu Bodhi.
On that day, there will also be many meditation students from the two meditation schools, Dhamma Dena and Joshua Tree, accompanying Bhikkhu Bodhi to this rice offering ceremony!
Bring your friends, if they have any questions, they can ask Bhikkhu Bodhi after the Dhamma talk at 1:30PM. Hope to see you here!
May all sentient beings happily evolve on the path!
Sādhu Sādhu indeed !!!

Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd, 2023
Dear Dhamma friends,
The recent welcoming rains have brought cleaner air and fresher water to us all. They also brought out the weeds and bushes. Our large and open monastery has seen a vast amount of weeds that are growing beyond the limited resources that we have to keep them at bay.
The monastery is organizing a clean-up day on this upcoming Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd, 2023.
We are welcoming volunteers to come give us a hand from 8 AM-5 PM on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, to keep the weeds and bushes from making our monastery inaccessible.
Please contact us at MahapajapatiFoundation2023@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer, and please help bring available tools.
Together we can make a difference on this upcoming Earth Day.
May all be well, happy, and peaceful!
With loving kindness,
Mahāpajāpati Foundation. -
Sāmaner Bhante Piyananda
What a wonderful experience that I had; recently trained a British lady to become a female novice (Sāmanerī) in the Theravada tradition.
Unexpectedly, I received a call from Bhante Piyananda who requested me to let her stay at Mahāpajāpati. Bhante also asked me to teach her how to recite Pali as well as to practice rehearsals for her Ordination. Thus, I spent some time, teaching her how to recite Pali and practicing rehearsals for her Ordination.
Consequently, her ordination was completed successfully. May all beings rejoice with these merits.
